Our Story

2010

Start of SunSource Energy

SunSource Energy was founded in 2010, when two solar engineers, Kushagra Nandan and Adarsh Das, joined hands and decided to come back to India after spending a decade in the US solar market. With a long-term vision of becoming a solar IPP, SunSource Energy started its operations as a solar engineering services provider.

2013

Leading the way

Being clear about the future role of solar PPAs, the founders executed one of the first private distributed Solar PPAs in India. In the same year, SunSource Energy developed one of India’s Mini Grid projects for a school in the state of Uttar Pradesh

2018

NEEV Fund invests in SunSource Energy

Neev Fund, a private equity fund backed by India’s largest bank and the UK Government invested in SunSource Energy. This enabled SunSource Energy’s transition to an Independent Power Producer, expanding its presence in solar PPA offerings, both on-site (Behind The Meter) and off-site (Open Access).

2021

SHV Energy Acquires Majority Stakes

Amidst global pandemic and a nationwide lockdown, SunSource Energy joined the SHV Energy family of companies, starting a new era in the companies’ journey.
