Reducing Energy cost and simplifying the energy transition for one if India’s leading Steel processing companies.

Goodluck-Industries

Goodluck India, one of India’s leading steel processors, plays a key role in manufacturing engineering products, including steel bridges for India’s ambitious Bullet Train project. Operating in a highly competitive industry, Goodluck India sought to reduce its electricity costs—a significant portion of its operational expenses—while addressing the steel sector’s high carbon footprint. With increasing production capacity and limited space for on-site solar, the company saw a strategic opportunity in off-site solar to lower costs and emissions. After successfully implementing a 10 MWp solar project for four of its manufacturing facilities, Goodluck India partnered with SunSource Energy again in 2024, signing a repeat Open Access PPA for 5 MWp to power its capacity expansion. This allowed them to access clean energy without upfront investment, ensuring cost savings, energy reliability, and progress toward their sustainability goals.

"Iron and steel industry is a heavy user of energy, and our long-term plan has been to shift a significant portion of our energy requirement to renewables to lower our carbon emissions. SunSource has a strong track record, and we are pleased to partner with them."
