SLMG, Coca-Cola's largest independent bottler in India underscores its commitment to reducing its environmental footprint by embracing solar

SunSource Energy 15 MW Solar Power Plant for SLMG in Uttar Pradesh

SLMG, the flagship company of Ladhani Group and Coca-Cola’s largest independent bottler in India, operates multiple advanced bottling units across Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. As its operations expanded, so did its energy needs. Initially, SLMG partnered with SunSource Energy for on-site solar project, but with power demand in India’s FMCG sector expected to triple by 2025 and SLMG’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, on-site solar alone was no longer sufficient. To address this, SLMG once again chose SunSource Energy as its trusted partner, to support its energy transition in multiple phases. This includes fulfilling 60% of power requirement of South Asia’s largest bottling plant. SunSource Energy currently provides ~27 MWp of Solar Power to SLMG companies, ensuring long-term cost savings while aligning with SLMG’s and Coca-Cola’s sustainability goals.

Highlights:

  • Location: Uttar Pradesh
  • Contracted Capacity: 27 MWp
  • Solution: Off-Site Solar
  • Estimated CO2 Offset: 850 million kg
  • Year Commissioned: Multiple (2016, 2022, 2024)
  • Equivalent Trees Plantation: 1.6 million

"For our business, energy is crucial because large-scale production depends on large consumption of energy. We were looking for someone to help provide us with clean energy solutions. That is where SunSource came in, so that we transition from a responsible business to a sustainable business."
