Neev Fund-backed SunSource Energy launches 6-MW rooftop project in Rajasthan

New Delhi: SunSource Energy, a solar energy solutions provider, on Tuesday said it has inaugurated a 6-megawatt (MW) rooftop solar power project in Bhilwara, Rajasthan for a textile firm.

It added that the project will provide clean energy to an industrial site of a textile firm based in Rajasthan for 25 years and would be developed on five rooftops of the industrial site spread across 21,00,000 square feet.

Kushagra Nandan, president, and co-founder, SunSource Energy said, "Our track record of adapting the latest viable technologies to our solar plants enabled solving customer’s problems and has helped us develop customer’s trust that leads to repeat orders from such reputed clients."

SunSource’s customers are large energy consumers such as commercial and retail establishments, industries, airports, educational institutions, pharma companies, and warehouses.

SunSource, an investee of the Neev Fund – a private equity firm backed by the State Bank of India and UK’s Department for International Development.
The firm in its statement said that the project was in line with Neev Fund’s commitment to providing sustainable development in low-income states of India and is expected to offset over 2,00,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emission over its lifetime.

It had recently won a solar with storage project in Lakshadweep to supply clean power to four islands in the region.
